3 Plus 2 Cuban Dance Company was started in 2021 after Carlos Ramirez and Valentina Karalus decided it was time to give their growing classes a formal name.
We specialize in Cuban popular dances, Salsa (Known as Casino in Cuba), Son Cubano (Precursor to Casino), Chachacha, Mambo Cubano, Rumba, Afrocuban and more!

MEET YOUR TEACHERS
Carlos
Carlos Ramirez is a professional dancer and dance instructor born in Havana, Cuba and specializing in Cuban genres of dance, both social and performance. He has been dancing, performing and choreographing for over 10 years. Carlos has trained extensively in Cuban social dance, various other styles of Salsa, Afrocuban folklore under Marisol Blanco, as well as classical technique.
He was a member of Marisol Blanco's Sikan Afrocuban Dance company for 10 years. He has performed and taught at many different festivals and congresses all over the United States. Currently is a director and teacher for 3 Plus 2 Cuban Dance Co. |
Monica

Mónica Chavarría is a Costa Rican-American dance artist raised in Miami, Florida. Given the culturally diverse environments she was brought up in, she’s obtained a versatile background in dance forms including Hip-Hop, Latin social dances, and Afro Beats. Chavarría is currently an active member of Sikan Afro-Cuban Dance Company.
When not professionally training, performing, or simply freestyling around the neighborhood, Mónica can be found crafting cocktails at the world renowned live music venue/social dancing hotspot, Ball & Chain, in Little Havana.
As someone who leads with joy, sauce, and a love for her community, Mónica’s objective as an instructor for 3+2 Cuban Dance Co is to highlight the rich musical and cultural elements of Cuban dances, while also connecting people to their unique personal expression.

EliseElise Partain is a dancer and instructor originally from Lexington, Kentucky, with over 17 years of dance experience. She began her training in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance, which she pursued for 13 years and continued studying at Skidmore College in New York.
Elise discovered her true passion when she was introduced to Cuban salsa and Afro-Cuban dance in Louisville, Kentucky, as a member of The Ville Casineras, a local dance group. After several years of teaching in Kentucky, she relocated to Miami, where she currently teaches with 3 Plus 2 Cuban Dance Co. Elise is passionate about sharing the joy and connection she finds in dance, and she strives to inspire that same energy in her students. |
RachelRachel Martinez is a Cuban-born dance instructor based in Miami. Her love for dance began in her home country, where she grew up dancing socially at family gatherings and local parties. These early experiences shaped her natural rhythm and deep connection to Cuban music and movement.
After moving to Miami, she began taking structured classes with Carlos Ramirez at 3 Plus 2 Cuban Dance School. What began as a student’s curiosity quickly evolved into a deep passion for Cuban dance. Her enthusiasm quickly stood out,and with dedication, she progressed from student to instructor. Her personal experience as both, a student and now an instructor, allows her to relate deeply to those she instructs.Emphasizing not only proper technique and musicality, but also making them feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor. |
